TRIBUTE / ERNEST &. ETTA SIMMONS (FAMILY FRIEND )

Bishop Neufville was a very kind loving and courageous man. In April 1980 when Ernest was locked up with hundreds of others at the Post Stockade in BTC; and when all other Liberians were affraid to be associated with or express sympathy for those in jail Bishop Neufville was the only man in Yekepa who had the guts to ask his congregation to pray for him. We will miss him dearly; and we know that the Lord has prepared a place for him. Mei his soul rest in peace.

Our Condolences to the Neufville Fam & Many Thanks  / Siaka Kromah (Family Friend )
My dearest Neufville Family

It is with great sadness to learned of the passing of our beloved Father Neufville and also great joy to know of the positive role that this "amazing pillar in society" and "force of nature" played in so many of our lives.

For those of us who lived in Lamco Yekepa and Nimba County Liberia: Father Edward W. Neufville III was a good neighbor a friend a pastor and counselor. He baptized and confirmed some of us and always displayed the importance of God in the lives of many.

Our families were close neighbors with the Neufville’s for about 5 years or so; and we kids were in each other’s homes regularly and attended the same schools. As I look back on my childhood years I will always see the Neufville Family as an endearing memory; and these are some of the fondest childhood memories that I have of Area J and Lamco Yekepa

Father Edward Neufville was also very gifted as a minister of the faith and delivered some awesome sermons on Jesus and Paul Letters. As I penned these words I can still see myself following Father as an acolyte or active listening as a member of the congregation to one of his sermons. He brought order and structure to the Church.

I remember the times that he would drive me to E-school if he was headed to work and we would just have a friendly chat about the day to day in my life. For this I thank you Father for making me into the man that I am.

To Mother Poude Nmano Ade and Eddie please know that God will take care of you. God has a time to call everybody home to rest and help to build his final army; so it matters how one lives. As long as Father’s blood and genes are in you children then he is still alive. In time you will pass that physical piece to your offspring’s which will pass it on to theirs. We are all interconnected in the cycle of life somehow.

On behalf of the entire Kromah Family please accept our deepest sympathy for your loss.

All the best!

Bishop unlike our journey to Freetown via boat in April 1996 when our group (the late Amb. Herbert Brewer Taylor Major James Bush) Theresa Leigh Sherman and myself left Liberia as refugees we all hated it because it was cold long and filled with uncertainties about our futures. In the end though we all endured thanks to your spiritual guidiance. However this new journey of your for which you have the pleasure of travelling solo is a "ROAD WELL TRAVELLED"!!. You embarked on this journey with very little apprehension knowing where it would lead you. I followed your progress thru Grandpa and was pleased to know how peaceful you were nearing the end of your journey. On behalf of my family I wish you God's unending Grace! (That Hat!) Florence Close

A Message to My Brother: I Miss You  / Elizabeth Dennis (Sister)

Hi Bro. Eddie This is Sis. “E”. I have something to tell you. Right after you left we had a snowstorm in this area. It was really difficult to travel. Thank God the streets are cleared now. Yesterday we visited the house. I entered the front porch and did not see you sitting in your chair. I miss that. I entered the house and didn’t see you sitting at the dining room table. I really miss that. I looked in the living room and didn’t see you lying in the sofa. I miss that. I went walking down the hall but felt short of opening your bedroom door. That I am still working on. Just the thought of knowing that you are really gone is very painful. But one thing I did not miss though is asking you this question: “Bro. Eddie are you still in pain?” The Lord has taken your pain away and he is allowing you to rest in peace. No more pain Bro. Eddie. Rest in peace. I really miss you and I love you always.

A Poem for Rt. Reverend Edward W. Neufville II

Peace be with you Mrs. Louise Morais Neufville and the Neufville Family
Peace be with everyone

Original poem by Claudia Minden Weisz other version by Ann Landers amongst others

And God Said "No"
by Nike (my version)

I asked God to cure Rt. Reverend Edward W. Neufville II
And God said "No."
He said his spirit is whole
His body is only temporary.

I asked God to spare us the pain of losing Rt. Reverend Edward W. Neufville II

And God said "No."
He said "Suffering draws you apart from worldly
cares and brings you closer to Me."

I asked God not to take Rt. Reverend Edward W. Neufville II away

And God said "No."
He said it is not for Him to take away
but for us to give up.

I asked God to help us find peacefulness in this situation

And God said "No."
He said He gives blessings
peacefulness is up to us.

I asked God if He loved Rt. Reverend Edward W. Neufville II

And God said "Yes."
He gave us His only Son who died for Rt. Reverend Edward W. Neufville II
and He is in Heaven because he believed.

I finally asked God to help us accept the loss of

Rt. Reverend Edward W. Neufville II and to help us believe in our faith.
God said
"Ah finally you have the idea."

Three words I will best remember Rt. Reverend Edward W. Neufville II by:

(I met RT. Reverend Neufville for only three days in Jamaica but he had the following great qualities I will never forget).

Graceful Peaceful and Calm.

Uncle Eddie thank you so much for being an endless source of optimism. I will miss your warm sincere and assuring voice your timeless teachings and all of the laughter. My “get well” card asked you to hold-on because we needed your guidance but your departure quickly reminded me that you’ve left us all of the tools to negotiate our own time here. I often marveled at your faith in God and your moral leadership…You led an extraordinary life thanks for your time with us. I love you I really do. Close

How can I ever forget you Bishop for all the wonderful time we shared working together for the Diocese. Your jokes sense of humour wisdom sermons teachings greatly impacted all who came in close proximity of you. You labored well in the Lord's Vine Yard. Receive your well earned rest in His Heavenly Bosom. Will practice your "Karate Kicks" you used for many years in opening my office door. How you used by kicks for for many years to open my door without turning the knob remains a mystery today. RIP in peace Bishop. Close
